Francis Bezooyen

My history in the Animation/VFX/Games industry began in 2002 when I entered the 2 year Traditional Animation program at Capilano College (now Capilano Universiy). I followed that up with the Digital animation program offered at the same school, and have worked in the industry since then primarily as a texture artist, but also as a modeler, animator, match-mover and generalist. Additionally I returned to school (BCIT) for one year to learn programming pursuant to some aspirations I have for developing software relevant to my industry. Financial constraints have kept me from continuing that program of study for the time being, but I remain interested in the goals that took me there and am looking for opportunities to pursue them one way or another.

My short term career goals are to work at places and on projects that inspire me and demand the best of my abilities, both artistic and technical. I hope to meet and work with people who share my passion for the CG industry and hopefully other fields of interest as well. And I am looking for people with expertise in developing software solutions for this industry that may be interested in partnering with me in the creation of an ambitious product targeted at medium to high-end VFX studios.

My other interests and activities include the following:

  • Husband and a father - our two little girls keep us very busy and entertained
  • Art, music, movies and books that are ennobling, playful and inspiring
  • Astronomy, ethics, philosophy, religion, human relations, our impact on our environment and where we as a species are going
  • Hiking, camping, enjoying nature etc
